We are continuously looking for highly motivated and talented new graduates, undergraduate students and postdocs interested in research at the interface of micro- and nanotechnology and neuroengineering.

Graduate students

Several funded research projects are available for graduate students in the area of Micro- and Nanofabrication, Neuroengineering, Neuronal Signaling, Biophysical Modeling, Cell Assays and Automation Bio Devices.
  • Interested graduate students need to be accepted by the MSU graduate school. Once accepted you can contact the P.I. (Contact) for current research project opportunities.
  • The Kunze Lab is currently affiliated with the following programs:
    • Electrical Engineering (EE) Graduate Program
    • Engineering Graduate Program
    • Material Science Graduate Program
    • Montana PEAKs Fellowship Program in Mathematics
    • We also consider co-mentoring students from other programs related to our research area e.g., Molecular Biosciences and Cell Biology and Neuroscience
  • The priority application deadline for EE is January 15, 2021, for all applicants seeking GTA or fellowship support for starting in Fall 2021.
  • During the application phase we encourage applicants to indicate their interest in working in the Kunze Neuroengineering Lab in their personal statement.
  • Also check out lab independent funding opportunities for graduate research at MSU.

Undergraduate Students

Highly motivated undergraduate students from all Departments at MSU are welcome to join our lab for research projects (computational, experimental, art in science) related to neuronal cell engineering. Please contact the P.I. with a short resume, your research experience, ideas and interest.
